Dec 16, 2016 · turn heat and stir off. allow vacuum to dissipate energy in evaporation (subsided reaction) break vac, replace mono swap cow assembly. turn on vacuum, re initiate reaction in neck. dial in vig section as desired for purpose of distillation result (slow or fast).
Once connected, set the temperature to 50C. -Connect your vacuum pump to one of the 4 ports on the supplied vacuum manifold. The manifold will allow you to isolate each individaul component of the short path while leaving you one extra valve to let atmosphere in and out.

Nov 03, 2018 · I believe short path distillation is described in Gold's Cannabis Alchemy. I have done it using a still. You can get crude from just ethanol. Nothing else. When you get just the oil, can leave some ethanol in it, it goes to the 'other' short path still. That one has to be set up with a heavy vacuum pump, proper glassware, heaters, condenser.

I can get a used rotovap in good condition for a lot cheaper than a short path and with a rosin press and a rotovap I can make THCA diamonds. Hell, I can just precipitate them straight out of a winterized acetone extraction and go straight from nugs to diamonds.

On a rotavap the rule is 20C delta between heating bath temp and the boiling temperature you are targeting, for instance. I pull vacuum down to 0.01 torr or less.
